Using Make Beliefs Comix to create a classroom lesson is a great way to engage students.

This cloud-based application is both fun and easy. All that is required it that one selects their characters, balloon captions, objects, backgrounds, and begins typing away. Below the comic blocks are some basic control tools which allows selected items to be moved, scaled, brought to the front, flipped, and discarded . Up to a nine panel comics can be created. When complete, comics can be emailed, saved as a .png or printed for free. This handy tool can be used to deliver course content in a creative way. Students could also be required to create their own comics for assignments. The comics could be used for a language arts or foreign language lesson. They would even be a creative way to tie literacy standards to art, math, or science. The only difficulty I had using the tool was coming up with content material based on the prefabricated items to choose from. Being a graphic designer, I also was intuitively hitting the delete key to remove items, which would automatically send me back to the home page. Luckily, every time I did this, my edits had been saved on cloud storage. This is a fun tool and the price is right.
